The Hyundai Tucson | super speed cars (Korean: 현대 투싼), or Hyundai JM (Joyful Mover) in Japan, is a compact crossover SUV built and marketed by the Hyundai Motor Corporation. Named after a city in southern Arizona, the Tucson is slotted below the Santa Fe and Veracruz in the lineup. Tucson has been one of the most popular Hyundai models with more than 1 million units sold worldwide since its launch in 2004 as a 2005 model.
Upon introduction, the GLS 2.0 2WD is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 140-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Limited 2.7 4WD is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, V6, 173-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
The 2009 Tucson has changed little since its 2005 debut. For this year, it gets a recalibrated transmission that leads to better fuel economy — which will undoubtedly increase the compact SUV’s appeal. “The Tucson follows the standard Hyundai model of offering a lot of stuff for not a lot money,” says Car and Driver. “Despite an eighth-place finish in a recent comparison due to a sluggish V-6 and lots of wind noise, the Tucson’s large, versatile interior and an excellent warranty make it worth a serious look.” Also on the the plus side, Hyundai’s five-year/60,000-mile basic warranty far surpasses those available from the CR-V or RAV4.

At its launch, the Tucson was part of a major product initiative in which Hyundai not only sought to launch new models in critical market segments, but also to turn out high-quality products that held their own with the class leaders, particularly those from Japan. Based on our experience, it is clear that the Hyundai Tucson received ample attention in the area of build quality.

The Tucson also is enjoyable to drive by SUV standards. Based on Hyundai’s compact car architecture, it’s not intended for serious off-road use. But since so few SUV owners do any off-roading to speak of, the Tucson is well positioned to attract small families and urban singles looking for a practical and affordable mini-ute.
It comes with a 2-litre engine: either the all-new diesel R or gasoline Theta-II and is fitted with Hyundai’s all-new six-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine meets the Euro-5 emissions standards and achieves 15.4 kilometers per liter fuel economy with maximum power output of 184 horsepower. The gasoline engine has a fuel economy of 11.7 kilometers per liter with a 166 horsepower. In South Korea, The diesel engine is offered in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel drive configurations, while gasoline engine is available only in front-wheel-drive. The US model will receive a 2.4-liter four-cylinder GDI engine producing 200 horsepower and getting a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine, Hyundai says, gets almost the same power as the previous generation V6 engine while managing 20% better fuel economy than the old four-cylinder.
